This article describes a computational system that identifies seismic reflections digitally recorded on magnetic tape. If needed, convert and plot the data into sections. The principle of discrimination or picking is to select all the time positions of the crests or troughs in a set of tracks that make up a meaningful seismic profile. Cross-track transverse continuity study “contrast” peaks or troughs, to determine the reflection section. All the reflection sections on at least three consecutive tracks are stored digitally on the tape. The product of the length of the reflected segment and its average amplitude represents the level of the reflected segment. Reflecting the number of reflections using time-varying grading thresholds, reflections above the threshold can be sent to an autoplotter or further processed, eg converted to a depth profile with a computer. This article presents several examples of automatic pick-up and compares it with the original variable area recording profile. This system is easily extended to a number of survey lines or area measurement data. This makes it possible to automatically obtain and display three-dimensional interpretation of results, such as isochronograms or isograms.
