Early Buddhist statuary art in Yunnan and Sichuan area has a wide range of archaeological distribution, these archaeological materials show the Han Dynasty, Yunnan and Sichuan area and Myanmar, Tianzhu Buddhism and art communication between the existence of the link. I believe that as early as before the Han Dynasty, the Southwest traffic in the Burma already existed, with a very ancient history. With the rise of Mahāyāna Buddhism in the first century, Buddhist statues began to popularize in India and Southeast Asia, and gradually spread to Yunnan and Sichuan regions through Yunnan and Myanmar, blending with the local early Taoist and immortal beliefs. From the perspective of the whole Yangtze River Valley, the art of Buddhist statues in Yunnan and Sichuan Province came into earliest appearance. The early art of Buddhist statues that later appeared in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River should be the result of indirect introduction through the Southwest Yunnan Burma.
