黑格尔曾经说过:人们总是认为,当他们说人性本善的这句话的时候时,他们就已经说出了一种很伟大的思想;但是他们忘记了,当他们说人性本恶的这句话时,才是说出了一种更伟大的思想。黑格尔这句名言在充分肯定善的作用的前提下,提出了人性恶是历史发展的原动力。恶,作为一种伦理精神,始终贯穿于黑格尔伦理思想体系,奠定了黑格尔道德哲学体系的基础。黑格尔道德哲学体系的基础,并与荀子的性恶论有某些相通之处。
