一 性格孤僻的保罗·塞尚(Paul C(?)zanne)静默地凝视着自然,执着而坚毅的寻找着形体的本质面貌,探究着绘画自身的构架。他的不懈努力终于使他的绘画突破了传统绘画的观念,重组了自然,创造了他自己的绘画的真实,开拓了新的艺术视觉。那已是一个世纪前的事了。塞尚和他的不少同代画家的探索,引来了近100年的西方现代艺术运动,展现了千姿百态的艺术现象,创造了五光十色、变幻莫测的艺术新作,西方美术史家称他为“现代绘画之父”。其实,19世纪末和更早以前的许多画家都或多或少地进行着自己的新求索,也都有着不同程度的功绩,然而,塞尚却被视为“鼻祖”。根本的原因在于他固执而诚实的创造启迪和促成了后人对于绘画艺术的观念性转变:再现自然、表现自然存在真实的传统绘画,连同精湛的传统表现技艺开始被视为绘画的非本质目标,代之而来的是对于自然的新视觉的开拓和绘画艺术的新创造。在西方,迎来了艺术观念多元发展的时代。美术史家们说,绘画从技艺时代变为了创造时代,是有一定道理的。
