The planned high-speed railway line between Taipei and Kaohsiung in Taiwan Province is 345km in length with a total of 39 tunnels with 9 stations in the center, namely Songshan, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Miaoli, Taichung, Changhua, Yunlin, Chiayi, Tainan. The requisition of the current land requisition has been completed 92%. The project will be built as BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer). This may be the largest BOT project in the world. Taiwan High Speed Rail International Consortium bid 11.77 billion US dollars (including the repayment of government financing) won the bid.
