Ezra Weston Loomis Pound compiled, translated and selected nineteen Chinese ancient poems on the basis of Ernest Fenollosa’s notes, edited and published in 1915 in London Published Cathay. The translation of poetry in the United Kingdom immediately caused a sensation and promoted the development of British and American imagist poetry. In a Chinese research paper on this collection of poems, CATHAY translates the poem CATHAY into “Shenzhou” “Huaxia” and “Guotai”. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the choice of CATHAY in translation and the choice of terms in “Cathay”, “Huaxia”, “Shenzhou” in the process of “Back Translation”. And traces CATHAY’s cultural connotation in the spread of literature.
