以太网(Ethernet)是一种性能比较好的本地网络:它的传输速率较好,可达1~10 Mbps;作用距离在本地网中相对较远,可达10公里;结构简单,以一根共享总线——电缆连接,像闭路电视一样敷设和使用。改接和扩充都很方便。其结构图如图1所示。以太本地网的工作原理采用分布控制的竞争式方式,网中没有主控站。每个工作站是一个智能接口,它能对总线状态进行测试,称之为载体检测。测试到总线空闲时,工作站才能发送信息。在发送时由于没有主控站存在,所以是自由
