《江雪》为唐代大诗人柳宗元在政治受挫后所写的著名山水诗。这首五言绝句仅用二十个字便勾勒出一派幽静清冷的自然景象,亦透出诗人孤傲超脱的情感。许版译文不仅忠于原诗,紧抓神韵,且在美感上毫不逊色;一行八音节,尾韵为aabb,简单明快,韵味悠长。“千山”与“万径”虽未逐字翻译,但内涵精准,对仗工整。而原文中没有的“lo”和“clad”更为神来之笔:“lo”的加入不仅使得词尾押韵,这一声叹息还给清冷的景象平添些许生气,让读者感受到钓鱼老翁的风骨;“clad”则生动地描绘出白雪覆盖、水天一色的江景,冬日意境扑面而来。
“Jiang Xue” is a famous landscape poem written by the great poet Liu Zongyuan in the Tang Dynasty after being frustrated by politics. This first five-character quatrains depict a serene natural landscape in just 20 words. It also reveals the poet’s loneliness and isolation. Xu version of the translation is not only true to the original poem, grasping the charm, and no less in beauty; his eight syllables, the end of rhyme for aabb, simple and neat, long flavor. “Qianshan ” and “Wan Dao ” Although not word-by-word translation, but the precise meaning, the rebellion neat. The “lo” and the “clad”, which are not in the original text, are even more superficial: the addition of “lo ” not only makes the final rhyme richer, but also adds a little bit of irritation to the cold scene and makes the reader feel the old man fishing “Clad ” vividly depicts the snow covered, water and rivers of the river scenery, winter mood blowing.
