第五届全运会田径比赛,以朱建华创造男子跳高2.38米世界纪录载入了史册,以大面积丰收开创了我国田径运动的新局面。从这次重大比赛中,看到了我国田径运动的进步与成绩,也暴露了存在的问题与差距,通过止反两个方面的总结,可以找出进一步发展我国田径运动的措施与建议。成绩这次比赛项目齐全(男、女共43个项目,女子新设了马拉松和竞走),人数众多(男运动员320人,女运动员254人),凡报名运动员全部参加了比赛,一改过去报名人数多比赛人数少的弊病(如四届全运会男、女短跑报名259人,弃权69人),体现了运动队伍精神文明建设的新风貌。经过四天紧张激烈的竞争,共有19人25次刷新102项全国纪录,包括一项世界纪录
