In order to study the relationship between the driver’s heart rate and the vertical gradient and the speed of the highway in mountainous area, 26 pilots were chosen randomly to carry out the real vehicle test on the third grade mountainous area. The dynamic physiological data was used to collect the heart rate data of drivers while GPS was used to collect the real-time vehicle speed data of the test vehicle. By partial correlation analysis, the main factors that affect the driver’s heart rate change while driving on the mountain road slopes were ascertained, The Relationship between Driver ’s Heart Rate Growth Rate and Slope and Speed in Direction Driving. The results show that: when driving in uphill direction, the driver’s rate of increase of heart rate increases with the increase of slope and increases with the increase of speed; therefore, considering the driver’s comfort and safety, Upward slope of the maximum safe slope should not exceed 6.8%.
