莲达·陈崴-尔利(Lynda Chanwai-Earle,1965-)是新西兰的第四代华裔、欧亚混血儿,活跃的爵士诗人、剧作家、演员、多媒体表演艺术家和电影制作人。莲达生于伦敦,在巴布亚新几内亚度过了童年时光,毕业于奥克兰大学,曾发表诗集《七个》(1993)、《蜜裤》(1994),戏剧《怜悯》(1995)、《家书》(1996)、《火山》(2000)、《猴子》(2004)、《热》(2005),多媒体表演《早发性痴呆》(1993)、《标准背离》(1993)、《中国信》(1996),独幕剧《炼金术》(1998)、《盒子/角色/梦》(1998),制作电影《中国微语》(1996)、《家书》(1998)和《后来》(1998)。莲达还与他人合作,于1994至1999年往返于各个监狱、学校和毛利人集会,表演《圣诞祝愿》(1997)等多个有关监狱主题的戏剧。她的小说《莲钩》近期将由企鹅出版社发行。莲达的作品《蜜裤》被提名1995年佩恩图书奖、获当年新西兰图书奖。《炼金术》荣获1998年惠灵顿边缘戏剧节最佳纽约奖,《盒子/角色/梦》入选当年最佳戏剧奖。莲达的代表作《家书》是新西兰第一部面向主流观众群体的真正关注中国移民经历的半自传体戏剧,后来它作为小说出版并录制成电影发行。1997年《家书》代表新西兰入选在爱尔兰举办的第四届国际女剧作家大会。2005年3月,莲达作为客座诗人参加上海文学节,并与南京大学师生座谈。值此机会,笔者就新西兰华裔生存状况及女作家本人的创作主题风格等问题, 对莲达进行了采访。
Lynda Chanwai-Earle (1965-) is the fourth-generation Chinese, Eurasian, active jazz poet, playwright, actress, multimedia performer and filmmaker in New Zealand. Linda was born in London and spent her childhood in Papua New Guinea. She graduated from the University of Auckland and has published seven books (1993), Honey Pants (1994), The Pity (1995), The Family Book (1996), Volcano (2000), Monkey (2004), The Heat (2005), Multi-media Performances Alzheimer’s Disease (1993), Standard Deviation (1993) (1998), Alchemy (1998) and Box / Character / Dream (1998), making the film “China Wegai” (1996), “Jia Shu” (1998) and “Later” (1998). Linda also worked with others to meet and return to various prisons, schools and Maori from 1994 to 1999 to perform a number of prison-themed plays such as Christmas Wishes (1997). Her novel “Lotus” will be issued by Penguin in the near future. Lin Da’s work “honey pants” was nominated 1995 Payne book award, won the New Zealand Book Award. Alchemy won the 1998 Best New York Award at the Wellington Edge Theater Festival, and Box / Character / Dream was named the best drama of the year. Linda’s masterpiece, Family Book, is the first semi-autobiographical drama in New Zealand that is truly the focus of the Chinese immigrants for mainstream audiences and was later published as a novel and recorded as a movie distribution. 1997 “House book” on behalf of New Zealand was selected in Ireland held the Fourth International Conference of women playwright. March 2005, Linda as a visiting poet in the Shanghai Literature Festival, and Nanjing University teachers and students to discuss. On this occasion, the author interviewed Linda about the living conditions of Chinese in New Zealand and the style of her own creative writing.
