“黄金时代”自从武术家霍元甲师徒、父子越过罗湖桥,在内地的荧光屏上亮相之后,有关描绘他们的武功、轶事的“公仔书”(广东人对连环画册的俗称)便接踵出笼,印数都在百万册以上,有的还出现过六、七种版本。紧接着,根据新武侠小说改编的连环画也纷纷登场:《七剑下天山》、《射雕英雄传》、《书剑恩仇录》……每一种都以两个以上版本出现。令人眼花缭乱、惊心动魄的拳脚功夫,吸引着一些青少年长途跋涉奔赴嵩山少林寺,也把大批狂热者引到了出售这类连环画
