别尔嘉耶夫不仅在俄国哲学史上,而且在世界哲学史上都占有重要地位,被誉为“俄国的黑格尔”“20世纪最伟大的思想家和预言家之一”等。别尔嘉耶夫的历史哲学思想,在其整个思想体系中占有特殊地位。该著认为,别尔嘉耶夫历史哲学思想是应对现代社会危机的产物,它指出人类“已处在剧烈的火山迸发之口”的危难时期。面对着人类所面临的空前危机,别尔嘉耶夫在对危机实质进行分析的基础上,指出危机的出路在于历史哲学,并由此对历史哲学的内涵进行了分析。别尔嘉耶夫之所以认为危机的出路在于历史哲学,源于在他看来历史哲学是通向末世论、通向终结
