More than 150 representatives and staff from all over the country attended the conference. Prof. Zhong Shantong, chairman of the research meeting, made an opening speech. Qiu Xuankai, deputy director of the Ministry of Metallurgical Department’s steel department, was invited to introduce the situation of China’s iron and steel production and the development of high-efficiency steel.
