为了改善养路工人的工作环境,丰富职工文化生活,提高养路工人的社会地位,黑龙江省公路局在省委省政府的亲切关怀下,在黑龙江省交通厅的直接领导下,于1994年成功地举办了首届养路工人节,通过文艺演出,技术比武,考察观摩,表彰先进等一系列丰富多彩的内容,新颖活泼的形式,赢得了社会各界的广泛赞誉,各地、市、县公路交通系统也相应地举办了一系列庆祝活动,从此,黑土地上的养路工人有了自己的节日,从此,养路工人翻开了两个文明建设的新篇章。
