每年农历二月十九,唐山市迁西县新集镇要过凤凰山庙会。各路花会队伍云集凤凰山下一显身手。在众多花会的表演中,忍字口村的背杆儿表演十分抢眼,让人一路追逐,翘首观望。这些扮演上角的孩子们,大的不超过七八岁,小的只有三岁左右。听村里的老人说背杆儿已经有两三百年的历史了。每年庙会期间,人山人海,忍字口村的背杆儿表演,成了整个花会一道靓丽的风景线。(注:背杆儿表演者分上角、下角。上角,指表演角色的孩童。下角,指顶起上角的背手。)
