进行杨树有性控制杂交是杨树遗传改良有效途径之一,但是杨属(Popvlvs)派间(Section)杂交,尤以白杨派(Sect.lence)和胡杨派(Sect.tukanga)树种与其它各派树种杂交存在严重不亲合性。不亲合性的障碍经Guries和Stettler、Willing和Pryor、Stettler、李文钿等人试验作如下报道:①.受精前的障碍即花粉粒在柱头表面花粉管不能正常萌发或进入柱头;②.受精前障碍即花粉管进入柱头在花柱基部停滞不前;③.受精前障碍花粉管在子房腔中异常缠绕;④.部分双受精不能正常进行;⑤.受精后的障碍即胚与胚乳发育不协调。在杨树远缘杂交中,杨树育种学家根据受阻的主要部位,采取有效措施克服这种障碍,以便获得健壮的杂种。
