A detailed geotechnical study and numerical simulation were carried out on a 170m deep open pit mine slope optimization design in Rajasthan, India. The study includes the physical properties of the discontinuities inside and around the mine, the geomechanical properties of the slope material, the grouping of the rock mass and the nature of the rock mass. The relevant geotechnical parameters are obtained from the partially formed steps and drilling records. Furthermore, numerical simulations for slope stability and sensitivity analysis were performed, and the best slope angle was determined based on these analyzes. The study shows that the overall slope angle of the upper and lower plates should be 48 ° and 42 °, respectively. Sensitivity analysis shows that groundwater is not conducive to slope stability, therefore, adequate efforts should be made to control the conditions under which groundwater is generated.
