对弈,是观赏石小品组合创作采用频率最高的题材之一,一般处理方式都是:一张矮几、两个人物、几个棋子,石头选材、布局已成套路,命名呢,不外乎“对弈”、“论棋”等等诸如此类,难出新意。这局组合之作,虽也源自“对弈”旧题,然而因其创作的别出心裁,便跳出了老套,让人刮目相看。作品共选用了5颗小石头:置于视觉中心位置的彩陶石,顶面方平,且有纵横纹线和几个斑点,应是一张理想的矮几棋
