历史有两层含义:一是指过去发生的事件,即客观地存在于人的意识之外的自然和人类社会发展变化的过程,可称为历史Ⅰ;二是我们对过去事件的理解和叙述,即人们记忆、记述、认识的自然和人类社会发展变化的过程,可称为历史II,或曰历史学。作为客观历史现象和历史事实的历史Ⅰ虽已逝去,但有重要的认识价值,是人们重要的认识对象,历史学家以记录和研究它为毕生的事业。
History has two meanings: First, it refers to the events that happened in the past, that is, the process of the development and change of nature and human society that exist objectively outside human consciousness can be called history; secondly, our understanding and narration of past events , That is, the process by which people remember, describe and understand the nature and the development and changes of human society can be called history II or historiography. Although history I as an objective historical phenomenon and historical fact has passed away, it has important value of cognition and is an important object of cognition for the people.
