在美国文学历史上,许多作家都在作品中塑造过印第安人物形象,关注过印第安历史与文化。作为上个世纪美国最伟大的女作家之一的薇拉·凯瑟,她的作品映射出多元文化的创作主题,其小说也贯穿这样的印第安情结。本文主要从宗教、艺术、土地三个方面分析研究她的小说所反映的印第安文化,传播人与自然和谐相处的生态思想,促使人们深刻思考人在自然界的地位和人与自然的关系具有重要的借鉴意义。
