8月25日,新疆军区生产建设兵团特级劳动模范苏长福所驾驶的汽车,在保险杆上被喷上了“安全、节约五十万公里无大修”的新字样。这是当前全国运货汽车中的最高纪录。按着这个数字计算,苏长福的车子等于沿着地球赤道行驶了十二圈多,没有进行过大修。苏长福是一个普通的司机,今年三十六岁。1949年新疆和平解放后,他在党的教育下,很快提高了阶级觉悟,于1954年参加了中国共产党。从参加革命以来,他就不断地提高思想觉悟,把自己的全副精力和智慧贡献给汽车运输事业,为祖国社会主义建设服务。他从1951年7月26日开始驾驶一部苏联吉斯150型货车以来,年年超额完成任务,降低消耗。八年来累计完成一百六十五万多吨公里任务,延长了接近十个大修期。
On August 25, a car driven by Su Chang-fu, a super-class labor model of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, was sprayed on the bumper with the new words “Safe and Economical to Save 500,000 km without Major Overhaul.” This is currently the highest record in the country’s pickup trucks. According to this figure, Su Chang-fu’s car equaled more than twelve laps along the equator of the Earth without major overhauls. Su Chang-fu is an ordinary driver, 36 years old this year. After the peaceful liberation of Xinjiang in 1949, he quickly raised his class consciousness under the education of the party and took part in the Chinese Communist Party in 1954. Since participating in the revolution, he has continuously raised his ideological consciousness, contributed his full energy and wisdom to the cause of automobile transport and served the motherland’s socialist construction. Since July 26, 1951, he began driving a Soviet Jisi 150 truck, over the years to complete the task to reduce consumption. Over the past eight years, it has completed more than 1.6 million tons of kilometers of tasks, extending nearly 10 overhaul periods.
