众所周知,冷铁有三个方面的主要作用:配合冒口,对冒日起增益作用;对铸件起热平衡作用,以防止铸件的变形和裂纹;改善铸件局部组织,满足其特殊应用条件。 资料介绍,在灰口铸铁和球墨铸铁件上应用时,外冷铁(以下简称冷铁)的厚度(T_冷)应小于铸件的热节厚度(T_热),即T_冷/T_热为0.3~1.0,这种观点认为厚大的冷铁会使球铁铸件放冷铁的部位呈白口组织,影响铸件材质均一性及其加工性能等。
