If the ordinary concrete is frozen immediately after it is poured, even if it is restored to positive temperature, its ultimate compressive strength is lost by about 40%. The elastic modulus, freeze-thaw resistance, impermeability, and the bond strength with the steel are used to characterize the durability of the concrete. All indicators have been significantly reduced. Therefore, the concrete must be maintained at a positive temperature for a period of time after it has been molded and reaches a certain level of strength.
