一、盐碱土的分布及其形成的原因 在辽中县广泛地分布着不同程度的盐硷土,为当地农业用地中面积最大的一种,约有二、三万垧地,占全部耕地面积的百分之二十五以上。全县八个公社均有分布,其中以辽河两岸最多,呈大片;河间及砂丘间的低洼地也有零星的分布。按对作物的危害性可分为两种:一是小面积盐分较重的“云彩地”,多在微域地形较高处;另一种是大片分布盐分较轻的轻硷土,其分布地势较为低洼。辽河东西两岸由于沉积物的质地和时期不同,而土壤质地也不一致,因而硷性大小也不同;辽河以西的盐硷土砂性大,下层多为砂土,盐分轻,多用来种植棉花,但因下层漏水不能开辟水田;而辽河以东的盐硷土土性大,下层土底不漏水,但更冷浆一些,水分不容易下渗,盐分较重,故多用来种水稻。
