Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a highly specific vascular endothelial mitogen that stimulates the proliferation of endothelial cells and induces angiogenesis and increases vascular permeability. VEGF-mediated angiogenesis is uncommon in normal human physiology and plays an important role in pathological tumor angiogenesis, with varying degrees of expression in a variety of tumors. Survivin, a newly discovered inhibitor of apoptosis, belongs to a new member of the apoptosis-inhibitory protein family and directly or indirectly inhibits the apoptosis induced by activated caspases and cell death proteases, but not in the normal tissues of survivin, Highly expressed in human tumor tissue. Related studies have shown that VEGF and survivin play an important role in the occurrence and development of tumors. This article reviews the relationship between VEGF and survivin expression and nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
