中华全国新闻工作者协会6月30日发出通知,决定从1991年开始,主办全国综合性的年度优秀新闻作品最高奖——“中国新闻奖”的评选工作。开展这项评选活动的目的,在于检阅我国新闻工作的年度实绩,推动新闻改革,促进新闻作品质量的提高,促进新闻队伍的思想建设和业务建设,更好地坚持新闻事业为社会主义服务,为人民服务的方向,从而在社会主义建设中发挥更大的作用。
