在油画与中国传统文化和审美趣味接触后,便有了“写意油画”的慨念。在油画里,常把写意与写实放在一起,但写意并非写实,写实却能表意。写意油画表达精神传达意气,重点还在如何“写”上。写,不是描,也不是染。写,就要见笔,就要见到笔触,要见到作画者手中笔的运动。写意,不只是一种创作的样式,要把作者的心灵和视觉之间沟通起来。写意油画的色彩就是要求作者真实感受,色彩、笔触的随性结合,创造出自我心目中的世界,打破传统油画追求自然和真实空间的束缚,根据自我情感抒发,有意义的组合,也重视画面上的用笔、造型、色彩、构成、形势等给人在视觉上产生的形式美感。
