中国地质学会城市地质研究会于1988年3月12日～15日在北京召开了“城市地质学编写大纲”讨论会。来自18所院校和8个科研生产单位的38位代表参加了会议,与会者并遍认为,随着我国经济建设的发展和城市化建设的到来,各地质院校、综合性大学、城建院校和生产单位的有关工作者都迫切需要城市地质学这门教材,并渴望早日出版。会议决定成立教材编写顾问组,确定由张咸恭、张卓元、方鸿琪、廖希圣等人组成,张咸恭教授任组 The Geological Society of China Institute of Urban Geology held a Symposium on Compilation of Urban Geology in Beijing from March 12 to March 15, 1988.
