如果说语言是交际的工具,语言知识的占有量就决定了交际能力的强弱;如果说语言是文化的载体,那么文化积淀就决定着语言掌握的程度。在英语教学实践活动中,无论是大学英语教师还是中学英语教师,重语言内部结构分析轻文化知识渗透的现象普遍存在。语言既是交际的工具,又是文化的载体。学习一种语言,不可能与了解这种语言所承载的文化脱节。语言与文化的辩证统一是外语实践活动中应该遵循的学科性质原则。
If language is a communicative tool, the possession of language knowledge determines the strength of communicative competence. If language is the carrier of culture, then the cultural accumulation determines the degree of language mastery. In the practice of English teaching practice, no matter it is a college English teacher or a middle school English teacher, there is a universal phenomenon of focusing on the internal structure of language and analyzing the infiltration of light cultural knowledge. Language is both a tool of communication and a carrier of culture. Learning a language can not be out of touch with understanding the culture that this language carries. The dialectical unification of language and culture is the principle of disciplines that should be followed in the practice of foreign languages.
