亲爱的读者:你们好!最近四川江津市读者曹毅来信提出了几个颇为有趣的问题,让我们一一讨论如下:第一个问题是:such as 有不应与 and so on 连用一说,但在高一课本中却有这样的句子:(1)English is spoken in many countries, such asAustralia,Canada, and so on.请问 such as 到底可否与 and so on 连用?从语法结构来讲,应只说 such aLs Australia andCanada,不可画蛇添足,再加上 and so on 或 etc。因为such as Australia and Canada 是一省略结构,其后省去了连系动词 are。但实际上,such as…后用 and so on 或etc 的情况可以说屡见不鲜。这大概是由于 such as 已被认为等同于 like 了吧。
Dear Readers, How are you! Recently, Cao Yi from Jiangjin City, Sichuan Province, made several rather interesting questions. Let us discuss the following questions one by one: The first question is that such as should not be used in conjunction with and so on , But in the textbook there is such a sentence: (1) English is spoken in many countries, such as Australia, Canada, and so on. Can such as in the end can be used with and so on? In terms of grammatical structure, should Just say such aLs Australia andCanada, can not be superfluous, plus so so on or etc. Because such as Australia and Canada is an elliptical structure, the associated verbs are omitted. But in fact, such as ... After and so on or etc situation can be said to be uncommon. This is probably because such as is considered equivalent to it.
