The Hudson River School is the first school of native painting in the United States. All the painters of the School of Painting use the unique landscape of the United States as the subject and object of painting. However, the composition of mainstream painters of the Hudson River School is grand and full of heroism spirit. Revealed through the elements of painting, the United States shows optimism about the aggressiveness of the United States. Unlike the other painters in the School of Painting, Inness, whose work is gracious and small, communicates the conflicts between pastoral idols and industrialization and the modernity Uncertainty. As can be seen, George Inness deviated from the mainstream of the Hudson River School, but his works with other artists were all reactions to the social transformation of the United States in the 19th century.
