现代主义小说是印度二十世纪文学中的重要构成,其发生、发展大致经历过三个阶段,各时期的创作成就分别以泰戈尔、阿葛叶与布塔代沃.巴苏和“新小说派”作家群为代表。泰戈尔实现了印度小说叙事手段的现代性转型;阿葛叶和巴苏为印地语、孟加拉语现代主义小说的发展奠定了基础;20世纪中后期出现并得到繁荣发展的“新小说派”借鉴、吸收西方现代主义文学观念和表现手法,融合本土小说叙事基因,强化现代性诉求,坚持立异标新,对印度文学现代化进程起到了积极的推动作用。
Modernist novel is an important part of Indian twentieth-century literature. Its occurrence and development have generally gone through three stages.
