我县地处四川省东部,达川地区南部,是一个典型的丘陵地区农业大县.全县现有稻田50万亩,占耕地面积的54%.但是,我县稻田复种指数较低,单位面积效益不高,一年一熟占稻田面积的60%,亩产值仅750元左右,一年两熟仅占40%,亩产值也只有950元左右,较为丰富的自然资源未得到有效利用,耕地的增产潜力没能充分发挥.为了开发利用自然资源,提高稻田综合生产效益,增加粮食产量,促进农民增产增收,1997年经地、县领导和农业科技人员的充分论证,拟定实施《杂交稻糯稻间栽综合配套技术开发与推广》项目,并报省财政厅立项批准,作为财政支持科技兴农项目.该项目经过1998年的精心组织实施,圆满地完成了各项技术经济指标,取得了显著的社会,经济效益,首次获得大面积成功.
