The principle of using dispersive Brewster beam expander with grating tuned Ti: sapphire laser to narrow the line width is deduced in detail, and the errors of the original theory are corrected. The experimental results are in good agreement with the theoretical results. The system has a wider continuous tuning range and narrower linewidth (<0.01nm) and achieves higher laser efficiency (30%) for narrow linewidth operation.
