The uncertainty of the determination of carbon content in low alloy steel by infrared absorption spectrometry in high frequency induction furnace was evaluated. The sources of uncertainty were analyzed in detail. The main uncertainties in the determination process were appraised. The final synthesis of standard uncertainty.
