机械传动国家重点实验室主要研究机械传动,尤其是齿轮传动啮合理论,传动失效机理;研究新兴技术与机械传动的结合,创立新型传动系统及设计评价指标体系等。该实验室装备了一批80年代末期世界先进水平的仪器,如5套美国SunSPARC系列工作站和1套HP9000工作站,并配有美国SDRC公司I-DEAS计算机辅助工程(MCAE)全套软件,能完成概念设计,实体建模、有限元分析、优化计算、动态分析、测试数据分析、绘图等机械计算机辅助工程研究;以美国HP公司HP3565S为核心,由日本小野测器CF355FFT分析仪,日本TEAC公司XR5000WB、RD101T、MR30数据记录仪与传感器配套的振动、振型、冲击、力、位移、应力、应变、温度等信息处理分析系统,美国HUGES公司的TVS3300红外热像仪,英国EALING公司激光干涉斑纹仪,丹麦B&K公司声强分析仪,日本东京精密公司SUFCOM757A表面轮廓度粗糙度测量仪以及自制的大中小型齿轮试验台,齿轮润滑试验机等共5台套,它们可用于进行各种
