The influence of thermal cracking on the physical properties of reservoir rocks is studied. The effects of acoustic and magnetic resonance techniques on the thermal cracking of rocks are systematically investigated. In the experiment, some sedimentary rocks were selected as the research object. The influence of thermal cracking on the rock properties was studied by means of magnetic resonance and acoustic measurement. The porosity and permeability of the rock samples were measured before and after heat treatment. The experimental results show that the permeability of rock samples tends to increase when the temperature is not too high (<140 ℃), but the effect is not obvious for low porosity samples. During the heating process, the sound velocity of rock samples decreased obviously and irreversible when cooling, and the magnetic resonance method had more obvious response than some other methods.
