The best male swimmer in the continental United States is Ryan Lochte of the United States. No matter what the standard to measure, his performance made him worthy of the name. He has twice won the top player Michael Phelps, making him the star of the entire Shanghai stadium. He scored 22 points, was the best swimmer at the 2011 FINA World Championships and won the FINA Trophy. Rochette’s new world record, made in a 200-meter individual medley, translates to 1002 FINA points, the highest record of the week.
