在英汉习语中,数字的应用极为普遍。数字在习语中承载着丰富的文化信息,从另一个侧面反映了两个民族的文化心理。本文首先探讨了英汉数字习语的文化根源,接着就两种语言中有代表性的几组数字进行文化层面的分析,对比其民族文化心理的异同,以期达到优化跨文化交际的目的。
In English and Chinese idioms, the application of numbers is extremely common. Numbers carry abundant cultural information in idioms and reflect the cultural psychology of two peoples from another aspect. This article first explores the cultural roots of English and Chinese numerical idioms, and then analyzes the cultural aspects of several sets of representative figures in the two languages to compare the similarities and differences between their national cultures and psychology so as to achieve the goal of optimizing intercultural communication.
