目前,国内外都已开展以单孢分离杂交为主的食用菌育种工作。用此法得到的新品种,究竟要栽培几代才能稳定性状,进行大面积推广?有两种看法:一种认为应象小麦、水稻育种那样,通过杂交初选出的新品种,需经十代左右的栽培,才能稳定性状;另一种则认为,只需2~3代的栽培观察,就能确定新品种的性状和栽培条件而应用于生产。
