Old Stuff Day is all about old stuff. Things you used have been forgotten for ages in your home. You must have some old stuff around. And today is all about enjoying it. Because what’s better than finding something really great from days gone by？
旧物日就是关于旧东西的。你以前用过的东西在家里已经被遗忘很久了，周围一定有一些旧东西。这一天是与享受这些旧物相关的。因为有什么比从过去的日子里找到真正的好东西更好的事呢？
It’s so easy to forget things you have. If we don’t use them every day， some things can be put away and stay there. And that’s not just the things in your home—technology1 grows so quickly， new toys come out all the time， new books keep coming out. In the age of new information2， it isn’t easy to think more about why we can have so many things now. Today is all about remembering the things we sometimes leave behind.
你很容易忘记拥有的东西。如果我们不是每天使用，有些东西可以收起来一直放着。不仅仅是你家里的东西——技术发展如此之快，新玩具不断涌现，新书也不断出版。在新信息时代，要想更多地思考为什么我们现在能拥有这么多东西并不容易。今天就是要记住那时我们有时遗忘了的东西。

If you think about it， there’s always been old stuff. But it isn’t clear when Old Stuff Day started to be celebrated. That said， this is an important day for those who are a fan of all things gone by.

We’ve learned to value3 what age can bring to things. Wine4 becomes better the older it gets. Furniture5 becomes more of a must-have once it becomes an antique6. It’s certain that old things aren’t without their uses， value or charm7. People nowadays will pay a pretty penny for stamps， toys， video games， board games， books， coins， and clothes of yesterday.

You can really get into the charm of old things by visiting a junk shop8. Another person’s old stuff could be your new stuff！Or maybe now is a good day to clean up？ Stuff you aren’t so into any more could make a great gift for someone else， or you could always pass your old things on to a charity9 shop.
去逛一家舊货店，你可以真正领略到旧物的魅力。别人的旧东西可能成为你的新东西！或者现在也许就是个整理的好日子？你不再喜欢的东西可以作为礼物送给别人，或者可以把你的旧东西送给慈善商店。
If you’re free， you could turn your old clothes into new ones with just a little tailoring10. Today would be a good day to visit your older families and learn about your family history.
如果你有空，可以把你的旧衣服改成新的，只要做一点剪裁。今天是一个拜访年老家人的好日子，你可以了解到自己的家族史。
Most of all， remember that today’s new stuff will one day be old stuff.
