国际计划生育联合会(International Planned Parenthood Federation),简称IPPF,1948年成立,当时称国际计划生育委员会.1952年改称现名,并由Margaret Sanger和Landy Dhanvanchi Rama Rau联合担任主席.1964年后,各地区又相继成立了许多分部.其主要任务是:负责安排各地区和世界性的大会;鼓励科研和宣传规划,训练人员;出版手册、文献汇编和医学研究杂志;制定检测标准;提供检测设备;积极筹集资金,为全世界各国制定发展规划和建立服务机构.同年,它成为联合国经济和社会科学委员会的顾问,继而又成为WHO国际劳动组织的顾问,至1971年它已拥有70个成员国.
