夹河,是烟台人民的母亲河,烟台市区的居民用水都取自于夹河。为了蓄水,河道上建起了多道橡胶坝。每道橡胶坝前面,都是一座小型水库。清清的河水,绵延几十千米,块石砌岸,杨柳护堤。鱼跃虾跳,莺歌燕舞,处处都是钓鱼人的理想钓场。夹河,是烟台人民的美丽之河,更是幸福之河。地理位置烟台人都知道,夹河,有内夹河、外夹河之分。靠近福山区的那个支流,俗称内夹河,发源于栖霞城南小灵山。境内长27千米,流域面积330平方千米。珠岩、陌堂的那个支流,俗称外夹河,发源于海阳县
