生产杂交水稻种子,要经过繁殖不育系和配制杂交种二个步骤,中间环节很多,稍一疏忽,很容易产生混杂,使杂种优势降低。因此,在繁殖制种中都要求在田间严格进行除杂保纯。但当制种时不育系混入少量保持系,或在不育系开花时受到恢复度不强(种性不好)的恢复系或保持系或其他异品种花粉干扰混杂而产生的种子混入杂交水稻种子中,就无法除去。据报导,杂交水稻种子纯度每下降1%,亩产稻谷便要减收10斤左右。所以,在生产中使用纯度低的种子,就将丧失杂交水稻的增产优势。杂种一代、不育系、保持系,这三者的种子在外观形态上几乎完全相似,很难辩认。因此,在收割、晒干、贮藏、运输等环节,把三种种子搞错,给生产上带来重大损失的事故也不乏其例。有没有一种简便的办法把这些种子区分出来呢?这是杂交水稻生产中迫切希望解决的问题,
