国家形象的塑造,是对人们认识和评价一个国家及其民众的正面预设的塑造。作为国家政治代表的政府理念、行为以及各种机构团体、社会民众在国家形象的塑造中具有决定性的作用;而国家的历史、文化、自然和社会环境等同样具有重要作用。新中国成立后政府重视以文化传播的方式对外塑造与传播国家形象,特别是以英文版《中国文学》为媒介对外翻译介绍中国文学精品,传播中国文化,以展示崭新的国家形象。文章着重分析建国十七年《中国文学》(英文版)对革命历史题材文学作品的选取,以及所展示之形象与时代精神,从而展示建国十七年中国国家形象的塑造与传播。
The shaping of the national image is a positive preconceived creation of understanding and assessing a country and its people. As the national political representative of the government ideas, behavior and various institutional groups, the public in shaping the national image has a decisive role; and the country’s history, culture, nature and social environment also play an important role. After the founding of New China, the government attached great importance to shaping and disseminating the national image externally through the means of cultural transmission. In particular, it translated and introduced the fine Chinese literature through the use of the English version of “Chinese Literature” and disseminated Chinese culture to showcase a brand-new national image. The article focuses on the selection of the revolutionary literature with historical themes selected by “Chinese Literature” (English version) during the 17 years of the founding of the People’s Republic of China as well as the images and the spirit of the times displayed to demonstrate the shaping and dissemination of China’s national image in the 17 years after the founding of the People’s Republic.
