如何提高双曲线齿轮的强度和寿命,是齿轮设计工作者极为关心的课题之一。笔者因工作关系,收集和测绘了国内外廿几种车型的后桥双曲线齿轮,对其中某些参数作了必要的分析计算,并查阅了部分美国格里逊公司关于双曲线齿轮方面的设计、制造等有关资料,结合自己的看法,作一些介绍如下。双曲线齿轮传动比圆弧锥齿轮更平稳,强度更好。双曲线齿轮的主要特点之一是由于轴线偏移,其小齿轮的尺寸相对的比较大,用圆弧锥齿轮不可能做成7.2以上的速比,因为7.2速比的小齿轮直径太小,而不能提供足够大的轴径来传递扭矩。而设计成双曲线齿轮时,克服了上述缺点,齿轮的强度也相应提高了。圆弧锥齿轮与双曲线齿轮的特性对照见表1。
