Okasie is a dramatist in the history of Irish play. For the first time, he used the profound and spicy realism strokes to present the background of the War of Independence and the citizens of Dublin’s slum area vividly before the audience. His works have unique national significance, and the relations among people, society and individuals presented in them are thought-provoking. Taking the author’s Dublin Trilogy as an example, this article reveals how O’Calys can show the life style and character of the little man in Dublin in the early 20th century by analyzing the characters in these three works.
