阿拉伯联合酋长国女作家苏阿黛·贾瓦德是众多当代阿拉伯女性作家之一。她以强烈的女性意识、敏锐的女性视角、特有的女性叙事反映了海湾妇女所面临的一夫多妻、大龄剩女、包办婚姻、网恋、家庭性侵犯、吸毒等社会问题,揭露了在宗教桎梏和男权社会传统的压制下,阿拉伯女性所遭受的不幸和不公,并试图以此来唤醒阿拉伯妇女解放的自觉,促进人们对妇女问题的关注,推动阿拉伯妇女追求平等、自由、解放的进程。
