如果我们观察一下相当大量的工作是对于碳物理和碳的物理性质的研究,以及对碳的结构的了解;将它们和碳化学及碳的化学性质的研究相比较,就发现后者的进展相当缓慢。其原因包括,与一般化学试剂相比,固体碳的反应性差,固体表面化学的特有的困难:非均匀性,缺乏再现性。 我们对碳的物理化学性质的研究工作是从1953年开始的,当时我们的兴趣集中在“水溶性”碳黑的表面性质,这类碳黑在工业上是用次氯酸钠处理制备的。
If we look at a considerable amount of work on the physical properties of carbon physics and carbon and on the structure of carbon, comparing them to the studies on the chemistry of carbon and carbon, we find that the latter is quite comparable slow. Reasons for this include the poor reactivity of solid carbon as compared to typical chemical reagents, the unique difficulties of solid surface chemistry: non-uniformity and lack of reproducibility. Our work on the physicochemical properties of carbon began in 1953, when our interest was focused on the surface properties of “water-soluble” carbon blacks, which are industrially produced using sodium hypochlorite.
